Phones are one of the most common items to be stolen. With some new phones costing close to a thousand pounds, thieves are targeting vulnerable people or those that are lacking the correct level of security. Phones are easily erased and sold on, making them ideal for someone wanting to make a quick buck.
There are some ways in which you can try and ensure your phone is secure, I have listed a few below:
- Ensure your phone is password protected and that it is set to lock the screen promoting for the password after a certain time period (i.e. 3 mins).
- Install a phone finder app such as Find my Iphone, this will allow you to track the phone providing it is still switched on should you lose it or it gets stolen. On some of these aps there is also the option to remote delete all the content on the phone should you not be able to find it.
- Never store passwords on your phone for other sites as if your phone does get stolen, you may find that they can also access your bank etc.
