With the temperatures hotting up it can be easy to start to become complacent with security at home. During the winter months, when the nights (and sometimes days) are cold and dark we tend to remember to lock all our doors and windows when going out or going to bed, but during the summer months this often gets over looked. If you are in the home then you may open a number of windows and doors to allow a breeze through your home, but it is vitally important to remember to shut these when you go out. You may only think you are popping out for a few hours or possibly that you do not need to worry about being broken in to during day light, but unfortunately often this is when a break in will occur. Some burglars will watch out for houses that have windows left open that are easily accessible and if they see the occupier leave, will grab the opportunity. If you do want to leave your windows open then make sure that there are no valuables on site and that you put a window lock on them so they cannot be opened more than a few centimetres.
