If you have business premises then you will need to think about the security of the building, contents and possibly your staff members. Some industries require higher levels of security than others, for example, a bank needs to be very secure with security doors, windows and possible security staff members on hand.
In the UK, the private security industry is regulated. It’s the job of the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to ensure compliance and to make sure no corners are cut. Before hiring any security company it is worth checking that they are SIA compliant.
If you need security guards for special events or for night watch then you may have to use a different firm to the ones that provide your CCTV systems and alarms etc. although they may be able to recommend a company to you. Always be sure that you hire through a reputable company and that you do as much research as possible in to the business and if possible individuals that will be your security. If you are going to be needing security on a regular basis it may be worth while employing your own staff members as out sourcing it can often cost quite a bit more.
